Entryway that welcomes: console, mirror pair and one smart scene
The entry used to be a dim pass-through, so I added a console, a calm mirror pair and a single “home” scene on the switch. The sconces lift faces without throwing hard shadows and the console hides keys in plain sight. One tap brings up a warm level that makes jackets read like fabric, not plastic. Guests relax before their shoes are off.
The outlet under the console powers a tiny diffuser that doesn’t compete with anything. The switch by the door mirrors the one at the hall end, so you never walk back to turn things off. All the small choices stack up into the feeling that someone thought it through. It’s hospitality baked into wiring.
Rainy days don’t flatten the space because the light stays close to people. The mirror reflects a gentle shape rather than a hotspot. Even the dog finds his spot faster. That’s a lot of calm from a little planning.
